About

Our Story

Keating Farm is one of the oldest and most unique farms in the Cowichan Valley, British Columbia. It was first established as Andrew Keating’s homestead in 1888 and became part of his 4000 acre estate in the Cowichan Valley. Keating Farm is located in the Agricultural Land Reserve about an hour north of Victoria.

This 27 acre farm is our home and home to honey bees, chickens, turkeys, sheep, pigs, heritage orchards and historical buildings. We are a small, diversified and sustainable family farm dedicated to providing exceptional products to you. We believe in small scale, sustainable, organic farming. We grow heritage breeds and heirloom plant varietals. We feature pastured pork, chicken and turkey, eggs, honey, hay and juice from heirloom fruit varieties grown using organic methods.

We are an agritourism destination and hope to become a gathering place for locals, urbanites, travelers, foodies, farm enthusiasts, and history buffs alike. We spent the past five years restoring several of the historical buildings and structures and are planning a farm-to-table brewery, cafe and accommodation suites here on site. We will sell a variety of farm produce; serve exceptional food and beer; and host events, weddings, retreats, educational courses and tours in a bucolic setting that is steeped in history.

We hope our guests experience the best of farm life and get to savour the taste of the Cowichan Valley. Welcome to the farm!
