New Farm Tour Video!

Check out the new mini video tour of the farm. We wanted to offer a brief video for people interested in seeing the farm that are not able to visit in-person. We are continuing to collect more footage throughout this year and will be publishing an update in 2021. We hope you enjoy the tour!

Heritage Conservation Awards

Amazing news! Earlier this year we received a conservation award from Heritage BC for the renovation of our late 1800’s farmhouse. Shortly thereafter, we were nominated for an award from the National Trust of Canada! We received notice that our project made it through the first review and now we are awaiting the final results. See the Photo Gallery for before and after photos.

Our Story

Keating Farm is one of the oldest and most unique farms in the Cowichan Valley, British Columbia. It was first established as Andrew Keating’s homestead in 1888 and became part of his 4000 acre estate in the Cowichan Valley. Keating Farm is located in the Agricultural Land Reserve about an hour north of Victoria.

This 27 acre farm is our home and home to honey bees, chickens, turkeys, sheep, pigs, heritage orchards and award winning historical buildings. We are a small, diversified and sustainable family farm dedicated to providing exceptional products to you. We believe in small scale, sustainable, organic farming. We grow heritage breeds and heirloom plant varietals. We feature pastured pork, chicken, turkey, eggs, honey, hay and juice from heirloom fruit varieties grown using organic methods.

We are an agritourism destination and hope to become a gathering place for locals, urbanites, travelers, foodies, farm enthusiasts, and history buffs alike. We spent the past six years restoring several of the historical buildings and structures and are planning a farm-to-table brewery, cafe and accommodation here on site. We will sell a variety of farm produce; serve exceptional food and beer; and host events, weddings, retreats, educational courses and tours in a bucolic setting that is steeped in history.

We hope our guests experience the best of farm life and get to savour the taste of the Cowichan Valley.
